A driver has said they were 'saved from a speeding ticket' thanks to a best-selling Amazon gadget. The device, the OOONO Co-Driver NO2, helps motorists avoid speed cameras and road hazards.
The gadget has dropped from £59.99 to £41.99 at Amazon, where it is the number one best seller in its category. This compact, discreet and screenless device can be easily applied to a car's dashboard to alert drivers of speed cameras or other hazards like accidents or roadworks.
How the device works
It is designed to help motorists stay safe on the road with minimal distractions thanks to its simple, real-time visual and audible signals. The Co-Driver NO2 can also alert users to several types of speed cameras, including fixed, mobile, average-speed and red light cameras, ensuring drivers stay within the speed limit and avoid points and fines.
To ensure motorists stay focused on the road, the device glows emitting a simple beep signal to warn of upcoming hazards. The OOONO works using GPS data and a community-based network of more than eight million drivers around the world, each of which can report a road hazard with a single press of the Co-Driver's button.

It is designed to stay on all the time and work automatically throughout every journey after an initial setup. This means there is no need to manually open any app before setting off as the Co-Driver NO2 is always ready to go.

Driver distraction survey
It comes as a survey of 1,500 people using UK road users shows that 31% of British drivers admit to using their phones while driving. The data compiled by OOONO shows that being distracted on the road can be costly, with 19% of British drivers saying they have received a speeding ticket in the past five years and 63% of those were not aware of the speed camera until being fined. However, according to OOONO's 2025 Driver Distraction Survey, 81% of drivers say a system to warn of upcoming road hazards in a minimally intrusive way would help them stay more focused.

This model costs £49.99 (was £69.99) at Halfords and is said to be used by the world's largest network of drivers. However, it has received mixed reviews with an average rating of 3.3 stars. Another option is the Road Angel Pure Sync at £59.99 (was £119.99), which is rated highly at 4.8-stars but also requires an annual subscription from £9.99 per month.

At Amazon, the OOONO Co-Driver NO2 has achieved a 4.2-star rating from more than 49,000 shoppers, with one saying the gadget saved them from a speeding ticket.
“This has saved me from a speeding ticket on countless occasions,” they said. “No subscription so it's a no brainer.”
Another said: “What an amazing product. The advantage of early warnings for all types of cameras is a huge benefit. It keeps you connected to the road and conditions. Also it allows you to report congestion or cameras in obscure locations giving others the benefit you receive.”
Despite being 'very pleased' with the Co-Driver NO2, this user found the alert 'hard to hear', saying: “Needs to be connected to a Bluetooth speaker to make it loud. The device alone is hard to hear. Very accurate detection, very pleased.”
While this five-star review says: “Great purchase, does what it says, easy to set up and use. Size is small and discreet, audible sound is easy to hear. Battery life is very good, had it a week and still have 60% charge left.”
