Save up to £946 on Samsung ZFlip8 with Sky Mobile deal
Sky Mobile deal: £946 off Samsung ZFlip8 pre-order

Samsung Galaxy users looking to upgrade can save up to £946 when pre-ordering the Galaxy Z Flip8 with Sky Mobile, thanks to a stackable deal. The offer includes a trade-in, a bonus, and a discount on a data plan.

How the £946 saving breaks down

The maximum saving is based on trading in a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 in 'good condition' for £430, plus a £300 trade-in bonus and a £216 saving on a 75GB data plan. However, the trade-in value varies depending on the model and condition of the device.

Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip8 by August 26 will also receive a free Samsung Galaxy Watch9 worth £349. The watch will appear in the order confirmation at no extra cost, though it won't show in the basket. Sky says the Watch9 will be dispatched within 30 days of receiving the new device.

Trade-in bonus and release date

Sky customers can claim up to £300 on top of their old phone's trade-in value, but only until August 6, ahead of the August 7 release date. To redeem the bonus, customers must use the IMI code of the new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra as the promotional voucher code. After the trade-in is validated, they receive an extra £300.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is available to pre-order until August 6, with all claims due within 14 days of purchase. Existing Sky Mobile customers switching to a Samsung Galaxy will receive £300 bill credit.

Pricing and alternatives

The device costs £12 upfront and £38 per month on a 36-month contract, with 256GB of storage. For those buying outright, the Google Pixel 9a is on sale for £299 at Amazon, down from £349, and the SIM-free iPhone 16e 5G is £499 at Argos.

Technology editor Dave Snelling noted: "Finally, there's the new Galaxy Z Flip 8, which keeps its popular clamshell design. Samsung has shaved a few grams off this device, boasting that it's now thinner and lighter than ever. In fact, it weighs in at just 180g - the older Z Flip 7 is 188g." He added that improvements to the cover screen make it more useful, and the advanced aluminium hinge adds robustness, along with improved performance and camera features like super steady video with horizontal lock.

Customer feedback on Sky Mobile

Reviews on Trustpilot are mixed. One customer said: "Sky Mobile is very good. I have been with Sky for 14 years, and they have never let me down." Another praised a staff member: "Great experience with Aaron, upgraded my broadband and TV and showed me mobile with Sky." However, one user criticized the call quality: "Sky Mobile, on the other hand, I can't recommend as they've configured their LTE/4G calling service to sound like 2G." Others reported positive experiences with service and pricing.
