A nail technician in Australia was left stunned after a client tried to avoid paying the full amount for her service, insisting that the 50% deposit she had already paid should cover the entire cost. The incident was captured on video at Glaze Nail Studio and shared on social media, where it has since gone viral.
The technician, who films her appointments to critique her own work, explained that the customer had previously visited the salon and should have been familiar with the booking process. When asked how she wanted to pay the remaining balance, the client claimed she thought the deposit was the full fee and that she had 'already paid'.
The nail tech tried to explain that the deposit was only to secure the booking, and that the other half was due upon completion. The client then argued that the $100 AUD (£48.64) set was not worth the price, saying the nails were 'not that good' and asking if $50 AUD would suffice. The technician refused, warning that she would have to remove the nails if the client did not pay.
The client responded by saying, 'Take them off, they're not that good,' and the video ended there. The nail tech later wrote over the footage that she was 'speechless' and hoped the client was joking.
Viewers were divided, with some from the UK noting that the price was reasonable for detailed nail art, while others pointed out that removing the nails would also cost the technician time and money. One commenter suggested the tech likely used clippers to remove them quickly, rather than performing a full soak-off, to avoid further loss.
