The launch of the latest series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! was disrupted on Sunday night (16 November) by technical problems with the show’s voting app, leaving many viewers unable to cast their votes.
Presenters Ant and Dec introduced ten new celebrities into the jungle camp, including YouTuber Angry Ginge (Morgan Burtwistle), rapper Aitch, EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, and Jack Osbourne. However, the opening episode was plagued by issues with the app, which viewers were required to download to vote for who would take part in the first Bushtucker trial.
Frustrated viewers took to social media to complain. One person wrote on X: “Is anyone having issues with the voting app? Why isn’t it letting me vote??” Another said: “Ugh can’t vote on the I’m a Celeb app because it wants to verify my number but keeps throwing an error.” Others demanded ITV fix its website, with some suggesting that using a normal browser tab instead of a private one might resolve the issue.
At the end of the episode, it was announced that comedian Ruby Wax and Angry Ginge would face the first eating challenge of 2025, dubbed “The Divey”, described as “a revolting restaurant where every morsel will be miserable.”
In addition to the app troubles, some viewers expressed dissatisfaction with the show’s updated title sequence, which replaced the traditional letters with stars. One fan wrote: “They’ve changed the I’m a Celeb opening titles?? Where are the letters? Why are they in stars? Change it back!”
