Fortnite developer Epic Games is taking the game offline for server maintenance alongside the release of update 41.30. The downtime began at 9am BST on July 30, making all game modes unplayable for a few hours.
What to Expect During Downtime
Players can download and install the new update during the maintenance. The update is required to play once servers come back online. Matchmaking was disabled at 8.30am UK time, ahead of the full shutdown.
Epic Games announced the downtime on X, confirming that v41.30 begins at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC). The server status page states the game will be offline for 90 minutes, meaning Fortnite and all companion modes should be back online from 10.30am BST at the earliest.
New Content in Update 41.30
According to Epic Games, the update includes: "Swing into action with Spider-Man's Web Shooters in non-competitive play, track down new Sprites and variants, unlock new Sprite Mastery rewards and more!" The update also introduces The Simpsons Reload content.
