B&M Places Baskets in Middle of Aisles, Shoppers Call It a 'Game Changer'
B&M Places Baskets in Middle of Aisles, Shoppers Delighted

B&M, the discount retailer known for branded products and low prices, has made a major change in a number of its UK stores, and customers are floored by the decision.

Shoppers often go in for one or two items and end up with arms full of things they didn't know they needed, then struggle to reach the till without dropping anything. B&M noticed this pattern and has now made a change to help.

Baskets placed in middle of aisles

B&M posted a video on TikTok announcing the change: baskets are now placed at the end of an aisle in the middle of the store, instead of only at the entrance.

Shoppers are already branding the move a "game changer" as the retailer bragged about the change on social media. The video used trending audio of a famous ad-lib from Beyoncé describing how she recorded the track "Partition".

The caption read: "when we decided to put baskets in the middle of the aisles".

Customers want trolleys too

While customers loved the decision, one encouraged the store to go further, saying: "Now just need a couple of trolleys too, when the decision to upgrade from basket to trolley is made."

The B&M team replied: "Working on it" with a laughing crying emoji.

B&M was formed in 1978 and is now one of the leading variety retailers in the UK. From its first store in Blackpool, Lancashire, it has grown to over 700 stores and employs over 35,000 staff across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The firm is based in Liverpool with headquarters in Speke.
