One PGA Tour star has put his major future at risk over his conduct at the US Open. Wyndham Clark received a ban from the 2025 host venue Oakmont Country Club following his behavior during the major.
Clark's Ban and Conditions for Reinstatement
Clark, a former US Open champion who edged out Rory McIlroy in 2023, missed the cut last year and vented his frustrations. He caused damage to lockers at Oakmont and was handed a ban. Club president John Lynch stated in a letter to members that reinstatement would require full repayment for damages, a contribution to a charity of the board's choosing, and successful completion of anger management sessions.
Clark expressed regret: "I made a mistake that I deeply regret. I'm very sorry for what happened. But I'd also like to move on."
Current Form and US Open Outlook
The American heads into this year's US Open at Shinnecock Hills chasing his first top-10 finish since the 2025 Open Championship. He tied for 21st at the Masters and missed the cut at the PGA Championship. Defending champion J. J. Spaun will be present, along with Rory McIlroy and Aaron Rai. Clark recently won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson with a final round 60.
