The Wild Heat, a popular sauna and cold plunge experience, is expanding to Stirling, with a new site set to open at Stirling County Rugby Club at Bridgehaugh Park this autumn.
The Glasgow-based business, which started at the West of Scotland Cricket Club in September last year, has seen growing success under owners Louie Mearns and his dad Gary. The new Stirling location will feature a 12-person sauna, three cold plunge barrels, a cold shower, and changing rooms.
Community Focus
Louie Mearns hopes the Stirling expansion will build a community, similar to the one that has developed in Glasgow. He told The Courier: "We have a lot of regulars at our site in Glasgow who have become friends through the sauna. You can be in there with people from all walks of life and different age groups. You’re in this enclosed space and you’re put in the situation where you end up having conversations with all these different people."
He added: "That for me is the best thing about it, more than all the health benefits. It’s the social aspect. Hopefully we can do the same sort of thing and replicate it in Stirling."
Social Media Announcement
Sharing the news on Instagram, The Wild Heat wrote: "We are so excited to announce that The Wild Heat is expanding, with a brand new location opening this autumn! Our new site will be located at Stirling County Rugby Football Club, offering incredible views of the Wallace monument. Work is about to begin and we’re aiming to open at the beginning of autumn. This first year has been absolutely amazing, we can’t wait to welcome both familiar and new faces to our Stirling location."
The post continued: "A huge thank you to everyone has supported us so far. We couldn’t have done it without you and we can’t wait for what’s next. See you in Stirling!"
Many followers shared their congratulations on social media, with one writing: "Very exciting for you guys." Another added: "I cannot wait for this! Good luck, hope everything goes smoothly." A third person commented: "This is going to be incredible! Can't believe it's actually happening!"
Pricing and Sessions
For those interested in trying the experience in Glasgow before the Stirling launch, a one-hour sauna session costs £12. It is a communal sauna with limited spaces, but private sessions can also be booked.
