Tara Kirk leaves Peterborough for West Brom

Viral football sensation Tara Kirk has left Peterborough United to join divisional rivals West Brom in a surprise transfer. The 23-year-old forward spent four years at Posh, scoring 55 goals in 96 appearances and amassing 52,300 Instagram followers as a lifestyle content creator.

Move to West Brom

Kirk joins West Brom following the Baggies' promotion to the third-tier Women's National League North. The move marks a new challenge for the striker, who went viral in 2023 due to her goalscoring exploits.

Posting highlights of her time at Peterborough, Kirk wrote: “Posh, I wasn’t just at a football club, I was a part of a family for the past 4 years where I made many achievements as well as always wanting to get Peterborough United promoted.”

Kirk added: “Football is all about new challenges, new experiences, new opportunities and so it’s time to move on.” She thanked fans, teammates, and staff for their support.

New start

Speaking after completing the move, Kirk said: “I’m so excited. It’s nice to get it over the line. I can’t wait to get started. Everyone has been so welcoming.” She praised the facilities and the ambition of head coach Siobhan Hodgetts-Still and interim head coach Martyn Irvine, stating, “They’re both very ambitious and that matches me perfectly.”
