Swansea City have announced they will face Italian Serie A side Udinese during their pre-season training camp in Austria. Udinese, who finished 10th in Italy's top flight last season, will be the Swans' third and final opponent in their week-long stay in Austria.
Pre-Season Schedule
The clash with Udinese follows matches against German second-tier sides Holstein Kiel on Saturday, 18 July, and VFL Bochum on Tuesday, 21 July. Swansea's solitary home pre-season friendly is scheduled for Saturday, 1 August, against Spanish side CD Leganes. The club's first competitive fixture of the 2026-27 season is a home Carabao Cup tie against Birmingham City on Saturday, 8 August.
Galbraith on Stoke City Move
Ethan Galbraith has revealed that the ambition of Stoke City was the primary factor in his summer move from Swansea City. The Northern Ireland midfielder completed an eight-figure transfer earlier this month. "I've said it a couple of times, the ambition of the club, where it wants to go, sort of aligns with how I want to go in my career," Galbraith told BBC Radio Stoke. "Everything that I heard appealed to me."
Despite his relatively short stint in south Wales, Galbraith expressed respect for Swansea, who gave him his move into the Championship after signing him from Leyton Orient. "There's obviously big respect from me to Swansea. They've been massive for me," he said. "But coming here, the facilities and stuff on offer to all the boys, it's high level so you can really you can feel the pride and it's a big club when you come and see the place. You see how intense the training is. So I think it's a good place to come and work and everyone pushes each other every day."
