Serena Williams plays at Wimbledon for the first time in four years today, facing Maya Joint in the first round of the singles draw. Their match is the third and final contest on Centre Court for day two.

Play on Centre Court begins at 1:30pm with reigning women's singles champion Iga Swiatek taking on Williams' fellow American, Taylor Townsend. That is followed by French Open champion Alexander Zverev against Alexander Blockx.
Because the first match is a best-of-three-set contest and the second is best-of-five, Williams is not expected to step onto court until around 4:30pm. However, that time could shift later depending on the duration of the preceding matches.
For context, on day one, reigning men's singles champion Jannik Sinner required three-and-a-half hours to beat Miomir Kecmanovic in the opening Centre Court match. That pushed the second match to a 5:30pm start, with the third contest, Novak Djokovic vs Yibing Wu, beginning at 7pm after Aryna Sabalenka took just over an hour to defeat Teodora Kostovic.
How to Watch Williams vs Joint
The BBC will broadcast Williams' match with Joint. However, it may not air on BBC One due to a World Cup round of 32 match between the Ivory Coast and Norway interrupting Wimbledon coverage on that channel.
BBC One's tennis programming starts at 2pm but runs only until 5pm, then breaks for news and the football match. Wimbledon is scheduled to return on BBC One from 8:30pm for another two hours, though extra time or a penalty shootout could delay that.
BBC Two will show Wimbledon from 11am to 7pm. During the 90-minute gap between moving back to BBC One, coverage continues on BBC iPlayer.
