Pre-season form
This is the penultimate pre-season fixture for Derek McInnes' squad before the Scottish Premiership season begins. Rangers recently returned from Spain, where they drew against Kaizer Chiefs and Johor Darul Ta'Zim after pre-season wins over Raith Rovers and Dunfermline.
Saint-Etienne's summer
The French side, managed by Ian Cathro, have begun their pre-season preparations. They suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Swiss side Servette in their latest friendly.
Previous season
Rangers finished the 2025/26 season in third place in the Scottish Premiership. Saint-Etienne narrowly missed out on promotion back to Ligue 1.
