Paddy McNally, the motorsport tycoon and former romantic partner of Sarah Ferguson, has died aged 88 after a long illness. His death comes just two months after the sudden death of his son, Sean.
Life and relationships
McNally, a former racing driver, was a close friend and ex-boyfriend of Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. The pair dated between 1982 and 1985, meeting when Ferguson was hired to look after his two sons, Sean and Rollo, following the death of his wife. After leaving Royal Lodge, Ferguson used McNally's chalet as a home.
Family tragedy
A friend told the Daily Mail: 'He was in a bad way for a while, so this comes as good news.' Two months ago, McNally's son Sean died on his Scottish estate, where he lived remotely.
