NFL Takes Over London with Zoo Mascots and Trafalgar Fan Fest

The NFL is staging a series of attractions across London this weekend, including a free fan experience at Trafalgar Square and mascot visits at London Zoo, ahead of Sunday's Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Sixty Super Bowl rings, a five-metre American football and two animal-themed mascots are part of the festivities. The Eagles and Jaguars meet in the second of three NFL matches on UK soil this year.

Trafalgar Square Fan Experience

Trafalgar Square hosts the NFL Fan Experience on Friday and Saturday, giving supporters a taste of the sport without entering a stadium. The Vince Lombardi Trophy will be on display, alongside kicking challenges, flag football exercises and a foam pit for touchdown celebrations.

The event runs from 1pm to 7pm on Friday and midday to 7pm on Saturday. Admission is free, though registration via the NFL OnePass app is required.

Mascots Return to London Zoo

London Zoo, which no longer houses eagles or jaguars, has welcomed Eagles mascot SWOOP and Jaguars mascot Union Jaxson in the build-up to Sunday's clash. The mascots will greet supporters at the zoo on Friday between 2pm and 3.30pm.

Former NFL defensive end Efe Obada, inducted into the NFL London Games Ring of Honour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday, appreciated the humour of the setup.

"I spent my career chasing quarterbacks so going face-to-face with an eagle and jaguar feels like a fair challenge, and luckily these two are a lot friendlier," Obada said. "Days like this are what the London Games are all about – bringing families and young people closer to the game in places they'd never expect."

Sunday's Clash and Season Form

Sunday's game is the second of three NFL London encounters in 2026. The Jaguars also return to Wembley Stadium on Oct. 18 to face AFC South opponents the Houston Texans.

The 2-2 Eagles arrive after back-to-back losses to the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, while the 3-1 Jaguars have won successive games against the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals.
