Man Utd vs Leeds: Free TV channel and kick-off time for Dublin friendly

Premier League rivals Manchester United and Leeds United meet in a pre-season friendly at Croke Park, Dublin, on Wednesday, August 12, with a 7.30pm UK kick-off. The 82,000-seater venue hosts the clash between the old foes, with little love lost between them over the years.

Team news and transfer activity

United will have aspirations of challenging at the top end of the Premier League table this season, but will have to adjust to the challenges of playing Champions League football alongside that quest. Michael Carrick's side have been active in the transfer market, with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans arriving, but have more to do.

Daniel Farke has added another Welshman – Harry Wilson – to his growing list of Cymru players at Elland Road.

Manager quotes

Michael Carrick said: "He (Mason Mount) just got a kick. So we just wanted [it] to be a precaution really, to look after him. We want to keep the group strong and we've been fortunate to get everyone to this stage fit and well, so we wanted to be careful with that."

Daniel Farke said: "It is a pre-season game so I am far away from over-interpreting it. It is four wins in a row in pre-season against good opponents, Sunderland, Liverpool and today two good games [two lots of 60 minutes] against a team that competes for the German title and playing Champions League football. I think we were the better side and deserved to win this game, although it was competitive, so it is so far, so good and we are on a good path, we know this, and we take lots of confidence out of this. Like always, there was a few things we could have improved, especially in possession, but overall we created more or less chances for more goals, we were a bit unlucky with the crossbar not to score a few more. I am most delighted about that we play against such a strong opponent over 120 minutes in pre-season where everyone is a bit tired, with many changes, and you still play 2-0 with a clean sheet. Many positives to take that I wanted to see, and I did see a lot today."
