Liverpool hijack Munoz deal
Liverpool sprung a transfer surprise on Wednesday night by hijacking Newcastle's move for Osasuna star Victor Munoz. The forward is reportedly on the verge of joining the Merseyside giants after they agreed to pay his £34.6m release clause. Munoz is now expected to sign a six-year contract and complete a switch to Anfield in due course.
Munoz will undergo a medical in the USA, where he is currently based for the World Cup, before officially becoming a Liverpool player. The Reds aren't the only top club to have kickstarted their summer business, though.

Manchester United and Tottenham have already agreed a couple of deals, while the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal will be hoping to make their first signings over the coming weeks.
Chelsea are reportedly planning a £120m raid for a top target, while Manchester United are in talks over potential signings.
