Dozens of glamping tents have been spotted at Victoria Park in Southport, Merseyside, as preparations ramp up for The 154th Open Championship. Pictures taken on Wednesday, July 8 show rows of tents at the park, which will host visitors attending the major golf event at Royal Birkdale from July 12 to 19.

Glamping Facilities for Golf Fans

Victoria Park has set up glamping facilities available to book for people heading to the event. The course is approximately 1.9 miles away, a 44-minute walk from the campsite. A complimentary shuttle service is also provided for attendees.

Multiple camping and glamping packages are available, allowing visitors to soak up the atmosphere with other golf fans. The Open is one of the four major championships in men's golf, alongside the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the U.S. Open.

Notable Participants

Local golfer Tommy Fleetwood, Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy, and American professional Scottie Scheffler are among the participants in this year's championship.

Local Businesses Prepare

Businesses in Birkdale and Southport have been gearing up to welcome golf fans. Shops on Southport's Lord Street have window displays dedicated to The Open. Southport's only dedicated golf shop, The Hole In 1, has launched a special Activation Zone with extended opening hours. Between July 16 and 19, they will offer golf-themed games, and their opening hours will be 9am to 8pm from July 13 to 19.
