Former Celtic and Sheffield United Defender Evan Easton Joins Airdrie
Evan Easton Signs with Airdrie after Celtic and Sheffield United

Airdrieonians have secured the signing of defender Evan Easton, who previously played for Celtic and Sheffield United. The 21-year-old centre-back was released by the Blades but impressed on trial at New Broomfield, earning a contract with the League One side.

Immediate Inclusion in Squad

Easton goes straight into the squad for today's Premier Sports Cup match against Dundee. Airdrie boss John Rankin expressed delight at the acquisition, stating: “We’re delighted to get Evan on board, he did really well against Falkirk [in a friendly] on Tuesday.”

Potential and Attributes

Rankin highlighted Easton's potential and qualities: “He hasn’t spent much time with us during pre-season, but he’s a young player with huge potential who’s now looking to find his roots in first-team football. He’s got good attributes as a ball-playing centre-back who enjoys individual battles, so we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses.”
