Emma Raducanu Loses Queen's Final to Donna Vekic

Emma Raducanu suffered heartbreak at Queen's as her five-year wait for a title continues, falling to Donna Vekic in the HSBC Championships final.

Straight-Sets Defeat

The British number one, ranked 42nd in the world, was undone by the Croatian in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6, despite a valiant effort in the second set.

Raducanu endured the worst possible start, losing the first set 6-0. The second set was far more competitive, with Raducanu pushing Vekic to a tiebreak, but the Croatian ultimately prevailed.

Title Drought Continues

Raducanu has not won a title since her historic US Open success in 2021. The 23-year-old was hoping to secure a memorable win in front of her home crowd at Queen's.

Vekic, the champion, also defeated another Brit, Katie Boulter, in the semi-finals.
