Steve Jones offers four each-way selections for day four of Glorious Goodwood, with the Coral Golden Mile (3.00) headlining the card.
Coral Golden Mile: Ebt’s Guard
Jones recommends Ebt’s Guard at 11-1, saying the battle-hardened horse has a stack of quality form in big-field handicaps. He was runner-up in this race last year from a wide draw but now has stall three. This season, he finished fourth in the Royal Hunt Cup and third behind Indalo at Sandown. Jones suggests 1pt each-way, with some bookies paying six places.
Coral Goodwood Handicap: Annabel’s Ghost
French raider Annabel’s Ghost (1.50) is tipped at 14-1 for the staying test. He won four staying races for Andre Fabre and finished fifth in the Ascot Stakes on debut for Mickael Suror, doing well from a wide draw. Jones advises 2pts each-way, with most firms offering five places.
King George Qatar Stakes: JM Jungle
JM Jungle (3.35), winner of this race last year, is selected at 10-1. He has not had luck this season but his third in a Listed contest at York three weeks ago showed improvement. The sharp track suits him, with two wins from three starts here. Jones recommends 1pt each-way, with most bookies paying four places.
Hawes & Curtis Nursery: Persian Spring
Persian Spring (4.45) is tipped at 12-1 after a luckless run in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is better judged on his York win in May and carries top weight for Richard Hannon. Jones suggests 1pt each-way, with most firms offering five places.
