A Surreal Experience in Raul's Chair
Our reviewer found herself in the capable hands of celebrity stylist Raul Torres, who provided the curly blow dry of dreams. Sitting down in Raul's chair felt a bit surreal. Struggling with breakage recently and trying to get hair stronger and healthier, the first thing discussed was how to achieve the desired results.
Raul advised avoiding any gimmicky products promising to repair every type of damaged hair, and recommended taking a break from bleaching hair for a while. The reviewer opted for a trim to keep most of the length, and Raul was encouraged by the baby hairs emerging from the scalp, admitting the breakage could be due to stress or other factors.
Face-Framing Fringe and Layered Trim
Meanwhile, colleague Tiffany was in search of a face-framing fringe and layered trim at the back. Hairdresser Saba Houshyar cut about two inches of her hair, checked in when cutting the fringe, and recommended a length best suited for Tiff's face shape. She then applied Kevin Murphy Anti Gravity Spray for volume as she did the curly blow-dry to finish.
Both opted for the Redken hair treatment, designed to repair damaged and bleached hair, before the cut began in earnest. The service was seamless, with drinks offered before hair washing and head massages, adding an extra element of luxury. Raul constantly checked in on water temperature, pressure and the length of the trim, but was never overbearing, making the reviewer feel totally at ease.

The Bespoke Glam Experience is a fully personalised 2.5-hour event with full hair and make-up, manicures, curated treats and sparkling wine, plus an interactive make-up masterclass. This month, Backstage is celebrating the launch of PIUR, a new London-born professional haircare brand making its debut in October. Every client will experience a PIUR salon basin treatment with personalised products to suit their unique hair texture and style.
