Aberdeen Attraction Divides Scots: Disneyland or Nightmares?

A TikTok video of a popular Aberdeen attraction has left social media users divided, with some hailing it as the "best time" while others insist it is the "stuff of nightmares".

Mixed Reactions to The Den and The Glen

The clip, shared by TikTok user @_beccasbooks, shows her at The Den and The Glen in Maryculter, Aberdeenshire. The video has amassed over 887,800 views and 111,900 likes, sparking hundreds of comments.

Formerly known as Storybook Glen, the attraction invites families into the "world of make-believe" with colourful statues of nursery rhyme, fairytale, and TV characters like Shrek, Barney the Dinosaur, and the Teletubbies.

Fond Memories vs. Nightmarish Impressions

Some Scots shared nostalgic memories, with one commenting: "Storybook Glen was the best place when I was little." Another wrote: "I love Storybook Glen, it's everything to me." A third defended: "You leave our Storybook Glen alone!!"

However, others were less complimentary. One user admitted: "I remember going there like every summer and didn't realise how bad they looked until now." Another said: "Help, I don't remember it being this bad."

Some viewers expressed reluctance to visit, with one writing: "What do you mean dreams? I think it's more like nightmares." Another recalled: "I remember going there when I was three and being petrified the whole time."

Several users even altered the lyrics of the background music, Hilary Duff's "What Dreams Are Made Of", to "this is what nightmares are made of". One commenter called the attraction "cursed", while another insisted it "needs to be a global tourist attraction".
