Rangers head into the new Premiership season on Friday with seven new signings and a new manager, Derek McInnes. But McInnes is not done yet, with the Europa League qualifiers approaching and the need to trim the squad to balance the books.
Jens Hjerto-Dahl
Rangers have bolstered midfield with Ross McCrorie and Cammy Devlin, but fans are keen to see Tromso starlet Jens Hjerto-Dahl join. The playmaker has been a long-term target and Rangers had a £5.4million bid rejected earlier this month. Hjerto-Dahl said he is 'tempted' by the move, but Cardiff City have offered nearly £8million and Hull City are also interested. Tromso transfer chief Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen insists they have had no fresh approaches for the 20-year-old, who is with the squad for a Conference League qualifier.
Olwethu Makhanya
South African defender Olwethu Makhanya is set to become Rangers' eighth signing. The 22-year-old went AWOL from Philadelphia Union after a move to Belgium was blocked. Rangers have agreed a deal worth around £3.3million for the centre-back, who was in Bafana Bafana's World Cup squad but did not play.
Oliver Antman
Finnish winger Oliver Antman struggled last season and is out of favour under McInnes. Belgian side Anderlecht are pushing for a deal worth upwards of £4million, with interest also from Derby County and FC Twente. His sale could fund replacements.
Jahnoah Markelo
Rangers are keen on Coventry City winger Jahnoah Markelo on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old moved to England for £4.3million a year ago but featured only six times as Coventry won promotion to the Premier League.
John Souttar
The arrival of Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta has cast doubt on John Souttar's future. The Scotland centre-back signed a new contract earlier this year but could be sold. Leicester City, Sheffield United and Swansea City are battling for his signature.
Ross McCausland
Winger Ross McCausland wants a move overseas after a loan at Cypriot club Aris last season. The 23-year-old has interest from Europe and MLS, but not from English League One. Luton Town have asked but cannot meet Rangers' asking price or his wages. McCausland has one year left on his contract and has trained well under McInnes.
Amario Cozier-Duberry
Rangers were linked with Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry earlier this year. The 21-year-old helped Bolton win promotion to the Championship on loan. A permanent deal could cost £5million, with Brighton rating him highly.
Nobel Mendy
Hull City have launched a £15.4million bid for full-back Nobel Mendy, who was on Rangers' radar last year before he joined Rayo Vallecano from Real Betis.
