Manchester United have identified Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers as a long-term successor to Bruno Fernandes, according to reports. The future of the United captain remains uncertain despite his stellar form this season.
Fernandes, 31, has been instrumental in United's resurgence under interim manager Michael Carrick, who has guided the club back to the Champions League. However, renewed transfer interest could emerge following his impressive performances, with the Portuguese playmaker reportedly keen to compete for major honours.
Rogers, primarily a left-sided attacker, is also viewed as a potential heir in the No 10 role. United face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for the England international.
United are also targeting midfield reinforcements, with West Ham's Mateus Fernandes, Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni and Brighton's Carlos Baleba on their shortlist. At least two central midfielders are expected to be signed ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
