Alexander Isak reportedly believes a bid of £100m or more would enable him to leave Newcastle United this summer, following his explosive public statement declaring his relationship with the club is over.
The Sweden international went public on Tuesday night for the first time about a summer-long dispute, accusing Newcastle of 'breaking promises'. In a statement released on Instagram, Isak said: 'When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can’t continue.'
His comments come after Liverpool had an £110m offer rejected at the beginning of the month. Newcastle are understood to be holding out for a fee in the region of £150m.
Newcastle responded to Isak's claims with a statement expressing disappointment, insisting the forward remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official allowing him to leave this summer.
The club said the conditions for a sale this summer have not transpired, and they do not foresee those conditions being met.
