Liverpool have been tipped to make a move for Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, with former Reds midfielder Jan Molby urging the club to consider the 22-year-old. Molby compared the Anfield dressing room to that of Manchester United, suggesting Olise would face less resistance at Liverpool than he might at Old Trafford.
Olise is expected to leave Palace this summer, with a reported £60 million release clause in his new four-year contract. The French playmaker has attracted interest from Manchester United, Tottenham, and Chelsea, who had a bid rejected in August. United have been linked with a swap deal involving right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Liverpool could still enter the race.
Molby told Goal: 'It won't do Crystal Palace any favours, but I'd take the boy Michael Olise. He looks a terrific player. He could be within what Liverpool are prepared to pay.' The Dane also dismissed concerns about Olise's attitude, which was questioned during his time at Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea academies.
'I think that you walk into a dressing room like Liverpool and the dressing room polices itself,' Molby said. 'You had the situation at Manchester United where there was a lot of support for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba – you would never experience that at Liverpool.'
Palace maintain that Olise is not for sale in January and are focused on survival under Roy Hodgson. The Eagles sit just above the relegation zone and face Arsenal on Saturday. Liverpool have not confirmed any interest, but Molby's comments could spark a move in the summer.
