Arsenal Make Morgan Rogers Top Transfer Priority, Bid Expected Soon
Arsenal Make Morgan Rogers Top Transfer Priority

Arsenal have identified Morgan Rogers as their primary summer transfer target and are poised to challenge Aston Villa's determination to keep him. According to Standard Sport, the Gunners hold genuine interest in the 23-year-old and are likely to make an official approach to Villa in hopes of reaching an agreement.

Versatile Attacker Fits Arsenal's Needs

Arsenal view Rogers as a versatile No. 10 who can also operate on the left wing. The England international is reportedly keen on a move to north London, and personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle. While Villa acknowledges the player's career ambitions, they consider him a key asset and strongly prefer him to feature in their 2026-27 Champions League campaign. Rogers was named Europa League player of the tournament after Unai Emery's side defeated Freiburg in the Istanbul final to secure Champions League qualification.

Rogers, who previously attracted interest from Chelsea, is currently in the United States with England at the World Cup, having appeared as a substitute in both group matches against Croatia and Ghana.

Other Transfer Targets: Jeremy Monga and Ayyoub Bouaddi

Arsenal remain in talks with Leicester City over a deal for 16-year-old winger Jeremy Monga. If a fee is not agreed, the matter could go to a tribunal, but the Gunners are confident of securing an agreement worth around £10 million. Additionally, talks have taken place regarding a move for Ayyoub Bouaddi, who impressed for Morocco at the World Cup. The 18-year-old Lille midfielder would command at least £60 million, with stiff competition expected from across Europe.

Julian Alvarez: Dream Striker Target

Arsenal are also monitoring Julian Alvarez's situation at Atletico Madrid. The 26-year-old declared publicly on Monday that he wants to leave to "fulfil his dream" and is pushing for a move to Barcelona. However, Atletico are reluctant to sell to a Spanish rival and insist on his €500 million release clause. Manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are huge admirers of Alvarez, viewing him as the dream striker signing. Arsenal considered a move last summer before opting for Viktor Gyokeres. Berta has made initial checks on Alvarez's situation, but the Gunners are unlikely to make a formal move while he focuses on Barcelona. Atletico would prefer to sell Alvarez outside Spain, and Arsenal could advance their interest if Barcelona withdraws. There have been suggestions that Gyokeres could be part of a deal, though no formal discussions have occurred. Atletico tried to sign Gyokeres last summer before losing out to Arsenal and remain keen on the striker.
