Arsenal 'hijack' Liverpool transfer as triple deal nears

Arsenal have reportedly submitted an initial offer for Liverpool target Gilberto Mora, while the Gunners are said to be close to finalising new contract extensions for Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal plot Liverpool hijack

The Mexican prodigy celebrates his 18th birthday this week, meaning Arsenal are permitted to sign him in January, reports the Mirror. Mora remains tied to Club Tijuana until 2029 but had been linked with Premier League rivals Liverpool in recent weeks.

Mexican publication El Provenir claims Arsenal have made contact with his current club regarding a potential move. Arsenal are long-standing admirers of the teenager, who caught the eye after becoming Mexico's youngest ever player at the World Cup earlier this year. Mora is said to have a release clause of just £21.2million in his existing deal.

Gunners near 'triple deal'

Arsenal are close to wrapping up new contract extensions for three key players, according to a report. Having recently secured manager Arteta until the summer of 2030, Gunners bosses are now looking to follow that up with deals for midfield powerhouse Declan Rice, captain Martin Odegaard and defender Jurrien Timber.

It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Rice is on the brink of penning a bumper new deal that will take him close to Arsenal's top earner, Bukayo Saka. Rice is currently on a reported £240,000-per-week deal, which expires in the summer of 2028.
