Wimbledon Star with Face Tattoos Loses 6-0 6-0

Oleksandra Oliynykova endured a crushing 6-0 6-0 defeat in her Wimbledon debut, spending only 40 minutes on Court 5 before being eliminated by American McCartney Kessler. The Ukrainian world No. 53, who has gone viral for her unusual face stickers that change with each tournament, failed to win a game in her first main-draw match at the All England Club.

Breakthrough Season Marred by Grass Court Struggles

Oliynykova entered Wimbledon on the back of a breakthrough season, having reached the third round of the French Open and the semi-finals in Cluj, where she lost to Emma Raducanu. However, her inexperience on grass proved costly. This was her first tour-level match on the surface; she lost in Eastbourne qualifying the previous week and also fell in Wimbledon qualifying last summer.

Kessler, the world No. 57, came into the tournament in strong form after reaching the Eastbourne quarter-finals. She dominated from the start, winning the first set in just 18 minutes and hitting four winners to Oliynykova's nine over the entire match.

Double Bagel at Wimbledon

The 25-year-old Ukrainian, who wore bat-themed stickers at the Transylvania Open, took to the court with more patches on her face but could not find her footing on the lawn. Kessler raced through the second set with equal ease, completing the double bagel in 40 minutes. Oliynykova barely won a point in her first-ever match at the All England Club.

According to the Daily Express, Oliynykova's defeat was a stark reminder of the challenges players face when transitioning to grass. Kessler, meanwhile, continued her momentum from the south coast, where she had impressed in Eastbourne.
