Manchester City are celebrating the third anniversary of their historic Champions League triumph. On June 10, 2023, Pep Guardiola's side defeated Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul, with Rodri scoring the decisive goal. That victory secured a historic Treble, making City only the second English club to win the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup in the same season.
Since that famous night, the squad has undergone significant changes. Some players remain key figures at the Etihad, while others have moved on to new challenges across Europe and beyond. Here is an update on every member of the matchday squad from that final.
Goalkeepers
Ederson left City last summer to join Fenerbahce. He recently returned to the Etihad to bid a proper farewell to fans on the final day of the season.
Stefan Ortega became third choice at City and left earlier this year to join Nottingham Forest. His short-term contract ended this summer, making him a free agent.
Scott Carson became an unlikely cult hero despite making just two appearances. He left City in 2025 and subsequently retired.
Defenders
Manuel Akanji left City last summer on loan to Inter Milan, with the deal set to become permanent this transfer window.
Ruben Dias remains at City and made 33 appearances last season despite injury setbacks.

Sergio Gomez found minutes hard to come by and left City in 2024 to join Real Sociedad.
Rico Lewis remains contracted to City but is on the fringes of the squad and is expected to consider his options this summer.

Kevin De Bruyne bid an emotional farewell last year and signed for Napoli in 2025, making 21 appearances due to injury.
Ilkay Gundogan initially left for Barcelona after the Champions League win, returned for a season, then left again last summer for Galatasaray. He recently returned to Manchester for a proper farewell.

Maximo Perrone did not work out at City. He went on loan to Como in 2024 and joined them permanently last year after just two appearances.
Phil Foden remains at City. Despite a couple of difficult seasons, the club is hopeful of tying him down to a new contract.
Cole Palmer left for Chelsea the summer after the Champions League win and has established himself as a Premier League regular at Stamford Bridge.
Forwards
Jack Grealish is still contracted to City but spent last season on loan at Everton. He will return this summer but is expected to leave permanently.
Erling Haaland remains City's talisman, contracted until 2034. He scored 38 goals last season and won the Premier League Golden Boot.
