Prince Harry was met with a mixed reception at Leicester Tigers' game against Gloucester at Welford Road this evening, as some fans booed when he appeared on the big screen.
The Duke of Sussex, known to be a big rugby fan, was shown taking his seat with a beer in hand, prompting jeers from parts of the crowd. Despite the reaction, Harry appeared in a relaxed mood, looking animated with his arms raised and at times engrossed in conversation with another spectator, according to LeicestershireLive.
Return to the UK
Harry's appearance at the match follows his high-profile return to the UK. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Britain in late August, bringing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet back from the US for what is expected to be an extended stay.
Since their arrival on August 26, the couple has been establishing a new base outside London, with their children enrolling in British schools for the autumn term. While they retain their home in California and remain non-working royals, Harry has recently made a handful of public appearances.
Rugby Patronage and Recent Outings
Harry previously served as patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), a role now held by the Princess of Wales, and remains an ardent supporter of the game.
Harry and Meghan appear to be settling into life back in the UK, having been seen enjoying a quiet pub lunch together in the Cotswolds last week. The couple was pictured at The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, with both wearing sunglasses as they arrived at the 16th-century pub. Harry wore a Santa Barbara fire department cap, while Meghan opted for a casual all-black outfit with white shoes.
Inside, Meghan reportedly chose gluten-free beer-battered haddock and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce for £18.25, while Harry had a £17.95 chicken, ham and leek pie served with seasonal greens, creamy mashed potatoes and gravy.
