Newcastle stand firm on Guimaraes and Hall amid interest

Newcastle United have made it clear that Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Hall are not for sale this summer, even as Arsenal and Manchester United circle. The Magpies have already generated nearly £170 million from the sales of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham, and they are determined not to lose any more key players.

Newcastle's firm stance on key duo

According to The Athletic, Newcastle 'insist' Guimaraes is not available for transfer, while they view Hall as 'important to their long-term plans.' The club is actually looking to sign another full-back to increase competition, rather than part with the England international. However, any stance can be tested by an enormous bid, but it would take an eye-watering amount to convince Newcastle to let either player go.

Potential departures for first-team regulars

While Guimaraes and Hall are off the table, Newcastle are open to offers for three first-team players. Joe Willock and Jacob Murphy are both entering the final 12 months of their contracts at St James' Park, and the club would consider offers for either. Additionally, Newcastle are looking to sign a goalkeeper this summer, which would make Nick Pope available to leave. However, there have been no concrete approaches for Willock, Murphy, or Pope so far.

Newcastle's summer business so far

Newcastle have already brought in a goalkeeper this summer in Ewen Jaouen from Reims, but the 20-year-old is not expected to be first choice. Winger Bazoumana Toure has arrived from Hoffenheim as a replacement for Gordon, and midfielder Sean Steur has been signed from Ajax. Toure is 20 while Steur is just 18, so recruitment so far has been heavily focused on the future.
