Carlos Alcaraz has surprised fans with yet another hair transformation, swapping his buzzcut for a platinum blonde look shortly after securing his second US Open title.
The world number one had debuted a close shave at the start of the tournament, asking the Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd for their approval after his first-round win. 'Did you like it, guys?' he asked, to cheers of approval.
When pressed on whether he would keep the new style, Alcaraz teased: 'You will see. Surprise.' The Spaniard has now revealed his new look on social media, with his barber posting: 'Back to No. 1 again and a new look. Carlos we’re crazy.'
Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner in Sunday’s final to reclaim the top ranking and celebrate with a party in Manhattan. He now sets his sights on completing the career Grand Slam, with the Australian Open as his next target.
'It's my first goal, to be honest,' said Alcaraz. 'Obviously I'm going to try to do it next year but, if it is not next year, hopefully in two and three and four. So I will try to complete it.'
