Wimbledon Semi-Final Halted After Medical Emergency

A men's doubles semi-final at Wimbledon was interrupted on Thursday afternoon after a medical emergency in the crowd forced play to be halted. The match on Court One, featuring Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic against Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, was paused at 1-1 in the second set as temperatures reached 33 degrees Celsius.

Umpire Addresses Crowd

Umpire James Keothavong announced over the loudspeaker: "We're just going to pause. A fellow spectator requires medical assistance at the top." Both pairs of players remained at the net while staff attended to the ill spectator.

Within 10 minutes, the umpire gave the all-clear for play to resume. The brief delay did not disrupt the momentum of the sixth seeds Arevalo and Pavic, who went on to win the match in straight sets.
