Saracens' Noah Caluori Retires at 20 After Neck Injury

Saracens wing Noah Caluori has been forced to retire from rugby at the age of 20 due to a neck injury, ending a promising career that saw him score five tries on his first Premiership start.

Caluori, who had been tipped for an England debut this autumn by head coach Steve Borthwick, sustained the injury in training and has been advised to stop playing for medical reasons.

The 6ft 5in player made headlines in September when he scored five tries against Sale Sharks, drawing comparisons with Australia stars Israel Folau and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii for his aerial ability.

England head coach Steve Borthwick had called Caluori into a training camp and said he could feature in the autumn internationals, praising his humility and desire to learn.

Saracens confirmed the retirement in a statement, expressing sadness at the loss of such a talented young player but prioritising his long-term health.
