Lingfield Park hosts a seven-race card on Monday, where Newsboy's nap, Magna, is strongly fancied in the 4.55 Follow AttheRaces On X handicap over five furlongs. The four-year-old filly, trained by Tony Carroll, has been in exceptional form this season, not finishing outside the top three in her last five outings. Her most recent victory came at Wolverhampton over six furlongs, where she led from start to finish under jockey Rossa Ryan, winning by two and a quarter lengths from Legendsoftheland.
The form from that race has been bolstered by subsequent wins from Fircombe Hall and Mintana, who finished third and fourth respectively. Despite a 5lb higher mark today, Magna is expected to handle the drop to the minimum trip with ease and overcome a field of largely exposed rivals.
