Luc Ramos will make his Six Nations debut as referee for Italy versus England in Rome this afternoon. The 35-year-old French official has been part of a late reshuffle in the officiating team after Nic Berry was unable to travel from Australia due to Middle East travel disruptions.
Ramos previously clashed with a captain during a Top 14 match in 2024. He ruled a tackle by Manu Tuilagi on La Rochelle's Gregory Alldritt legal, stating Alldritt's head tilted forward. Alldritt, who captained France in Antoine Dupont's absence, reacted heatedly, insisting the tackle was not legal.
Ramos's last international was Wales vs South Africa last autumn, where he sent off Eben Etzebeth for an eye gouge. He progressed through junior officiating and joined the Pro D2 panel in 2015, later officiating in Top 14, Premiership, Champions Cup, and U20 competitions.
Pierre Brousset (France) moves to assistant referee one, and Sam Grove-White (Scotland) becomes assistant two, replacing Berry.
