Ireland lock Tadhg Beirne has thrown his support behind England flanker Tom Curry, predicting the Sale Sharks star will thrive on the British and Irish Lions' upcoming tour to Australia under the guidance of head coach Andy Farrell.
Beirne, who played alongside Curry during the Lions' 2021 tour to South Africa, believes the 25-year-old's adaptability and relentless work rate make him a perfect fit for Farrell's dynamic playing style.
Versatility Key to Success
'Tom's ability to play across the back row gives us so many options,' Beirne told reporters. 'Whether at openside, blindside or even number eight, he brings that same intensity and rugby intelligence to every position.'
The Munster second row highlighted how Curry's breakdown expertise and defensive organisation could prove crucial against Australia's mobile back row unit.
Farrell's Influence
With Andy Farrell taking over as Lions head coach following his success with Ireland, Beirne expects the former defence specialist to bring fresh tactical ideas to the touring party.
