Peaty Hails Ramsay As Inspiration For 2028 Olympic Bid

Olympic champion Adam Peaty has hailed his father-in-law, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, as an inspiration as he sets his sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The 31-year-old swimmer, who almost quit the sport before and after the Paris 2024 Games, confirmed he will compete in 2028 following the addition of the 50m breaststroke to the Olympic programme.

Peaty, who married Ramsay's daughter Holly in December, said the TV chef has been a guiding influence. Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Peaty described Ramsay as 'very inspiring' and noted that despite their different careers, he looks up to him for guidance. 'He knows the game is the game, that it doesn't lie. But it will humble you and you've got to work hard for those results,' Peaty said.

The swimmer, who has three Olympic gold medals and three silvers, admitted the next two years will be 'the hardest of my career'. He is back in action at the British Championships this week and is focused on building experience for LA. 'The Olympics is the one that excites me. That is the one that really gets me out of bed every day, the one I dream of,' he added.
