Kristina Parks, a 45-year-old mother of three and nine-time IFBB Pro League champion, has shared a video on Instagram showing her body before she began weight training a decade ago. Known online as the 'muscle mummy', Parks started her gym journey at 35 to rebuild her confidence after having children.
The video contrasts earlier photos of Parks as a young mother with an average build against recent footage of her with defined biceps, toned abs, and muscular thighs. In the caption, she wrote: 'I broke … then built myself up. I only hope to help others know to get up and build. Especially moms! You can do it. Only up from where you start.'
Many followers praised her transformation as 'outstanding' and commended her dedication after motherhood. One commenter said: 'FANTASTIC transformation!!! AND, it's so much more difficult for a woman, especially after kids!!' Another added: 'Amazing and incredible transformation with all the challenges you were faced with.'
However, not all feedback was positive. Some critics said they preferred her pre-gym appearance, with one person questioning what 'hurt' her and another calling her 'a mess'. Despite the negativity, Parks remains happy with her body, focusing on the confidence she has gained.
