Conor McGregor makes his long-awaited return to the octagon at UFC 329 tonight, headlining the event against Max Holloway in a rematch of their 2013 bout. The fight takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as part of international fight week.
McGregor's Comeback After Five Years
McGregor has not fought in the UFC since July 2021, when he broke his leg during the first round of his third fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He also withdrew from a scheduled bout with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in 2024 due to a broken toe. The former featherweight and lightweight champion now returns at nearly 38 years old against a familiar opponent.
Holloway's Recent Form
Max Holloway has been active since McGregor's last fight, competing eight times. He fought twice for the featherweight belt and claimed the symbolic 'BMF' title with a dramatic last-gasp knockout of Justin Gaethje. Holloway outpointed Poirier in the latter's retirement fight last summer before losing the 'BMF' title to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March, where he was dominated by the Brazilian.
Event Schedule and Fight Times
UFC 329's five-fight main card starts at approximately 2am BST, 9pm ET, and 7pm PT. The lightweight fight between King Green and Terrance McKinney opens the card. London flyweight Lone'er Kavanagh faces former title challenger Brandon Royval, followed by a bantamweight bout between Cory Sandhagen and Mario Bautista. Paddy Pimblett serves as the co-main event against France's Benoit Saint Denis, looking to recover from his first UFC loss to Gaethje in January. The main event between McGregor and Holloway is expected around 4:30am BST, 11:30pm ET, and 9:30pm PT, though times are subject to change.
