Bargain hunter: Three top cars for the price of one Range Rover

A motoring expert has revealed that savvy shoppers can bag a trio of high-performance vehicles for the same price as a brand new Range Rover. With the cost of living crisis driving more motorists to the second-hand market, Auto Express specialist Ellis Hyde curated a collection totalling approximately £100,000 – the current cost of a new Range Rover in 2025.

Hyde's first pick was a Bentley Continental GT, a luxury grand tourer typically commanding six-figure sums. He found a pre-owned example with just over 26,000 miles for £44,995, describing it as offering "style, stupendous speed and a pillowy ride" ideal for long-distance travel. His second choice was a Lotus Exige V6 S at £39,995, a stripped-back sports car with a manual gearbox and unassisted steering for a thrilling driving experience.

Completing the British trio, Hyde selected a pre-owned Range Rover Sport for £18,995, praising it as a comfortable, dynamic and capable luxury SUV. Meanwhile, mechanic James Goodhand advised opting for a used estate car over an SUV, citing the Volvo V90 as 25% cheaper, roomier and more efficient than the equivalent XC90.
