Matteo Berrettini's Ex-Girlfriend Once Blamed His Injuries for Their Sex Life
Berrettini's Ex Blamed Injuries on Frequent Sex

Former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini is back in action on Centre Court this Saturday, facing Grigor Dimitrov in a third-round match. While much attention has been on his tennis, his love life has also drawn interest, particularly his relationship with Italian model and TV host Melissa Satta.

Berrettini's Relationship with Melissa Satta

Berrettini, 30, dated Satta for just over a year, from 2023 to early 2024. Satta, who is 10 years older than the tennis star, is American-born and known for her work as a model and television host. Before Berrettini, she was married to former Tottenham and Barcelona footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng, with whom she has a son named Maddox Prince.

The relationship between Berrettini and Satta ended amicably. Berrettini said: "What I can say is that we had a beautiful, intense relationship and we have great respect for each other. I won't go beyond this, I don't like sharing my private life too much. Nothing special happened."

Satta's Comments on Sex Life with Boateng

During her marriage to Boateng, Satta made headlines for her candid comments about their sex life. She claimed that the reason Boateng was often injured was due to their frequent intimacy. "The reason why he is always injured is because we have sex seven to ten times a week," Satta said. "I hate foreplay, I want to go straight for it. I prefer to be on top so that I can be in control."

However, she later expressed caution about her words, telling Italian media: "You have to be very careful about what you say in football, especially when it comes to sex. Just because we have sex so often doesn't make me a nymphomaniac."

Berrettini's Wimbledon Campaign

Berrettini reached his only Grand Slam final at Wimbledon in 2021, where he lost to Novak Djokovic. Since then, he has not advanced beyond the fourth round at SW19. This year, he has already won two matches: a first-round epic against Stan Wawrinka that included an 18-16 tie-break in the second set, and a four-set victory over Arthur Fils.

Reflecting on his mindset, Berrettini said: "I think it's really important in us tennis players that you always have the confidence when you step on court. When you don't have that, it means you really have to stop for a little bit and try to figure out why you don't feel confident like that. You can always lose. There's only going to be one winner these next two weeks, so someone is going to lose, for sure. I know my level. I know I can win against anybody. I know I can make trouble for anybody, especially on this surface. I also know that I can lose matches. This fine line between fear and confidence, it's really important in tennis."

Dimitrov's Love Life

Berrettini's opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, has also had a high-profile love life, having dated Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger. The Bulgarian wild card will be looking to advance past the third round for the first time since 2021.
