Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has launched a furious broadside at his former employers, Paris Saint-Germain, accusing them of reckless behaviour that led to a serious injury for winger Kingsley Coman.
The explosive incident occurred during a heated Champions League encounter, after Coman had scored against his boyhood club. As the German international wheeled away in celebration, he was mobbed by his teammates near the advertising hoardings.
Tuchel claims that a subsequent, and wildly overzealous, celebration from the PSG bench directly caused the injury. "The injury from Kingsley Coman is a direct consequence of the crazy and dangerous behaviour of the whole PSG staff," the Bayern boss fumed.
He described a chaotic scene: "They celebrated like they had won the Champions League final. It was absolutely disproportionate and, above all, dangerous."
The aftermath saw Coman require extensive medical treatment on the pitch before being substituted, a sight that left Tuchel incensed. His anger was further fuelled by the fact that the goal was later disallowed by VAR, making the entire sequence of events and the resulting injury utterly pointless.
This public dressing-down adds a deeply personal and bitter layer to the already intense rivalry between the two European giants, with Tuchel clearly feeling his former club's actions were beyond the pale.
