Premier League clubs are circling newly-relegated teams for bargain signings this summer. West Ham United, Burnley, and Wolverhampton Wanderers will drop to the Championship, potentially offloading star players at reduced fees. Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool could exploit this, with seven targets worth a combined £238 million.
Jarrod Bowen
The West Ham captain is the most obvious target. Bowen, 29, scored nine and assisted 11 in the Premier League. His contract runs until 2030, but West Ham may need to raise over £100 million, making him available. He has been linked with United and Liverpool.
Mateus Fernandes
The 21-year-old midfielder joined West Ham for £38 million last summer. Arsenal and United are reportedly interested in the Portuguese talent, who could be available at a discount after relegation.
Crysencio Summerville
The Dutch winger, 24, ended the season with nine goal involvements. He could serve as a backup option for Liverpool or United if they target left-wingers this summer.
Joao Gomes
The Wolves midfielder, 25, was valued at £43 million before relegation. United see him as a potential replacement for Casemiro. However, reports suggest he is close to joining Atletico Madrid.
Andre
The 24-year-old Brazilian was previously a Liverpool target and is now linked with United. Wolves valued him at £35 million, but he recently signed a new four-year deal, complicating a move.
Mateus Mane
The 18-year-old Wolves midfielder impressed in 27 league appearances, scoring three and assisting two. A £50 million price tag has been suggested, but relegation could lower it.
Zian Flemming
The Burnley striker, 27, scored 11 Premier League goals and is valued at around £10 million. He could be a backup number nine for top clubs.
These players could strengthen any Champions League side, and their relegation clauses may make them affordable this summer.
