Auston Trusty has eased fears over a serious injury after he was stretchered off during the USA's 3-2 defeat to Turkey in their World Cup Group D clash. The Celtic defender, who started at left back, opened the scoring after ten minutes but later went down with an ankle injury late in the game, requiring a stretcher to leave the field.
Trusty's Injury Update
Despite the worrying scene, Trusty downplayed the severity, telling FOX Sports after full-time: “Honestly, I am in my head right now, I rolled my ankle a pretty bad... I heard a little something, but I'll be fine. No worries.” The 27-year-old's reassurance will be a relief for Celtic, who face the start of the Premiership season and a Champions League playoff showdown.
