Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui has emerged as a fresh injury concern during the international break after being substituted in Morocco's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho.
Morocco claimed a 2-0 win in the Group A match on Tuesday afternoon, with Mazraoui starting at left-back for Mohamed Ouahbi's side. However, the 28-year-old went to ground with a suspected injury in the second half after winning a tackle near the touchline, signalling for medical attention and appearing to be in pain.
Mazraoui was replaced by Paris Saint-Germain's Achraf Hakimi in the 69th minute, with the nature of the injury unclear. United will now wait for an update on his fitness and whether he will continue featuring for Morocco for the rest of the international break.
Seventh concern in past week
This is the seventh injury concern for United during the international break. Patrick Dorgu was the latest before Mazraoui after being withdrawn during Denmark's 2-0 win over Wales at the weekend.
Bruno Fernandes also missed Portugal's win over Norway at the weekend with an injury concern, but could return to feature against Denmark on Thursday night. Karl Darlow withdrew from the Wales squad, as did Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo from England duty last week, as well as Benjamin Sesko from the Slovenia squad.
Premier League return
United went into the three-week hiatus on the back of a 1-1 draw with Fulham, having won only one of their opening five league matches. Before the break, they were without Amad Diallo, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Tom Heaton due to injury.
The Reds will hope the aforementioned players recover in time for the club's return to Premier League duties, hosting Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on October 10.
