England Stars Claim Henderson's World Cup Not Over Despite Injury
Henderson's World Cup Not Over, Claim England Stars

Morgan Rogers and Dan Burn have both sensationally claimed Jordan Henderson's World Cup is not officially over just yet. The 36-year-old midfielder underwent successful surgery in Kansas City after suffering an arm fracture during England's 3-2 World Cup Round of 16 win over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium on Sunday. Incredibly, he is targeting a return to help England before the end of the tournament.

Henderson's Determination to Rejoin Squad

It certainly seems a long shot, but Rogers and Burn, who both spoke to the media on Wednesday at the Three Lions' media bunker in Kansas City, appeared to indicate that Henderson was still in with a shout of playing with a cast. Rogers said when asked about the Brentford midfielder's decision to rejoin camp: "That just shows exactly what he's like as a person and as a guy. I think hopefully he can still be involved with us going for the rest of the tournament."

He added: "He's not going to rule himself out in either way. I think the belief he's got in his own body and his ability and his confidence and the way he is and what he represents as a person is massive to our group and he's everything really. He's the heartbeat of the group."

Burn's Guilt and Support

Meanwhile, defender Burn claims he felt guilty about the small role he inadvertently played in the ordeal. Burn explained when reflecting on the shock incident: "Yeah, I think I killed him a bit because I made it look really easy when I jumped over. He was like a kid for me!"

"Yeah, I just heard the noise behind us straight away, and you know with Hendo, if he doesn't get up, there's something wrong. Yeah, gutted for him, because I think he was so pumped on the pitch as well, which I think just shows the type of person he is. He wasn't on the pitch, but he was still buzzing for everyone."

Burn continued: "He's had his op now, and hopefully they're still up for him to play in the tournament. I know he'll do absolutely everything possible to be there with the lads, supporting. I'm happy he's back in Kansas now, because I think it's been a long few days."
