Verstappen summoned to stewards as Singapore Sprint pole under threat

Max Verstappen's first-ever pole position in Singapore is at risk after Formula One stewards confirmed an investigation into the Red Bull driver. Verstappen has been summoned to a hearing following Sprint qualifying.

Hamilton reports alleged breach

The investigation stems from an accusation by Lewis Hamilton, who claimed Verstappen overtook under yellow flags early in the session. The incident occurred after Sergio Perez crashed and snapped off the front wing of his Cadillac in SQ1.

Replays showed Verstappen clearly overtaking Hamilton in the same section of track where debris from Perez's car lay on the surface. Hamilton quickly reported the alleged rule breach over the radio.

Verstappen offers his side

Verstappen also used the airwaves, suggesting he believed he had moved past the Ferrari before reaching the yellow flag sector. The stewards confirmed the matter would be investigated after the session, with the outcome to be decided in the hearing.
