Max Verstappen was left furious after being forced to retire from the British Grand Prix following a late crash at Silverstone. The four-time world champion was only a few laps away from a fifth-placed finish when he lost control of his car.

Verstappen was coming into Stowe when he lost the rear end of his car and was unable to regain control, skidding into the gravel. He could not get the car going again and was forced to retire at the home of British racing for the first time since 2021.

Clearly furious in the heat of the moment, Verstappen said over team radio: "I hate this f****** car, f****** unbelievable." The outburst came after a lapse in concentration ruined his hopes of completing the race.
